Shift kit on ls1?

So I have a shift kit that I never installed on my 94 v6 .... I have an automatic 2001 z28 now . Is it worth installing . Will I feel the difference in my car? I was hearing about ppl who said there transmission went out a few months after installing it is there any risk in that happening

Re: Shift kit on ls1?

How can you ask this without telling us which shift kit?

The 4L60E had a number of changes between 94 and 2001, I would call a professional tranny builder and discuss which kit you have and then if it can work on your 2001 and then how to set it up or any additional parts they would recommend.

A good shift kit setup right helps a tranny live, a cheap shift kit or one setup ignorantly can hurt the tranny.

Re: Shift kit on ls1?

Your better off just getting a tune than putting in a kit.

Then ebay it, you wont find anyone reputable putting B&M stuff in a 4L60E.

Transgo is THE favorite 4L60E kit with some professionals prefering to piece together their own setups using Transgo and Sonnax components.

Leave the B&M/TCI stuff for the old three speed trannies.
