Security light/won't start questions

Security light is blinking and the car won't start. I have done a search and know about getting my key checked out, maybe having to replace the lock cylinder and getting new keys, and the vats bypass. I have another issue related to this one. The alarm started going off and I couldn't get it to stop so I disconnected the battery. It's been over an hour and I went to connect the battery and the alarm is still going off. Any way to connect the battery back up and stop the alarm?

If I replace the lock cylinder and get new keys, do I have to go through a chevy dealer to get them?

If I do the vats bypass to see if that'll get the car running again, can I reverse it later with no issues?

Thanks in advance and I appreciate the help.

Re: Security light/won't start questions

If you don't hack up the wiring, you can easily reverse the bypass.

Re: Security light/won't start questions

Some searches bring up issues with the wiring from the lock cylinder going bad or coming loose. Will I have to replace the cylinder all together for this or would the bypass still work?

Also, my alarm is still going off everytime I reconnect the battery. Any way for me to get it to shut off?

The bypass is done under the steering column and negates (bypasses) the wiring to the key cylinder. I don't mess with or know anything about alarms.
