Safe to drive?

So I am driving my 99 SS and hear a supercharger like noise go home and realize all my powersteering came out. It flooded my whole garage to the rear tire! My friend found out the belt sliced through the power steering cooler line. He cut it off and clamped it so it won't leak. Drove it all day and no leak. Is it safe to drive for a while? Also he said it might be a SLP part is it hard to find the part?

Re: Safe to drive?

It should be safe as long as the p/s reservoir is filled again and the hose is replaced. Only about 1% of drivers actually need that cooler (was included with the factory trailer package option). Unless you do road course competition, I think you could just eliminate it. My 98 does not have that option installed.
