Running hot at highway speed, fixed.

Just passing on my recent problem and fix. Car slowly starting running hotter and hotter over the last 10 or so days. On the highway the temp gauge was hitting the last white line befor red. Using the search function, I checked a lot of similar posts. Checked all the obvious, coolant level, fans working, looked for leaks, etc...Using Shoebox's great instructions, I bled the system. No change. Replaced radiator cap, no change. Changed the thermostat. Bingo. Temp gauge never gets past the middle line on the gauge. Again, Shoebox's tech page is invaluble! Hardest part of the job was getting the intake elbow back on....Thought this may help someone down the road.
