Question Quick A/c Question

What do you guys run your top and bottom pressure at on your a/c. I have heard two different things. One said to run the top at 195-200 and bottom at 30, and another person said to run the top at 295-300 and your bottom at 30. I need to know which one is right. I have it at around 195/30 right now and it isnt working very well. Just wanted to check with you guys.

Re: Quick A/c Question

It depends on the system and on the ambiant temp. "generaly" 35-45 PSI low side and 200-250 PSI high side. But like I said, it depends.

Re: Quick A/c Question

Well I dont really know what ambient temp is, but the system is on a 1995 LT1 so it is using R134. It is about 90 degrees with 50% humidity outside if that tells you anything.

Re: Quick A/c Question

It still depends. Generaly your readings show that your slightly undercharged. The system holds (by memory) 2 pounds when empty. so unless you started with an empty system and charged by weight there is no way to know for sure how much you are lacking. usualy considering your heat level now I would pill untill the high side hits close to 250 and the fans turn on high.
