No heat!

Re: No heat!
There's a fan in the box for the HVAC that pulls air through the system to pick up hot or cold, depending on where the temperature rotary dial is located. If you had air flow, and the air flow completely stopped, it may be the fan motor (there is no compressor involved with the heat - that's for the A/C).
Alternatively, if there is air flow, but it doesn't respond to turning the temperature rotary dial, it may be a problem with the cable from the **** to the flapper door in the HVAC box.
If the is air flow, but you can't control which vents it comes out of, its a problem with the vacuum supply to the HVAC controls. That is usually due to a problem with the check valve in the vacuum line from the intake manifold.
Here's Shoebox's diagram:

That all assumes you had heat, and it stopped suddenly. If it stopped gradually, the heater core may be plugged up and needs to be flushed out with a garden hose.

The motor is accessible by dropping the insulation panel on the bottom of the passenger side of the dash. You should be able to tell if the motor is running or not when the fan switch is moved to the various fan speed positions.
