New to forum. Wheels/tires/lowering ?
I'm about to buy a 95 z28. I want to lower and install the chrome c6 5 spoke 18/19 wheels. I'm a member of a few forums and I know how to search but cannot seem to find the correct definite answer. If I lower with say Eibach springs and run 18x8.5 (+56) 255/30r18 front and 19x10 (+79) 295/30r19 rear with 1.25 adapters on the rear with fender roll will everything clear? Turning and through dips?

I ran OEM C6 19x10's with 275/30/19 and 1.25" spacers all the way around and was lowered on an Eibach Pro-Kit at one point. Absolutely, positively horrible ride AND I couldn't get traction due to so little sidewall. It got to the point I hated driving the car. Eibach springs are known to sag in the rear, even new (as mine were) and there was very little suspension travel and I hit the bump-stops on even the smallest bumps!
I eventually changed over to the Strano sprigs, Koni SA shocks and went with chrome C6 18x9.5 replicas from oewheelsllc.com w/275/35/18 tires. Ride and handling improved, traction improved, and I loved driving my car again.
However, to answer your question...Yes, 18x8.5 will fit the front and 19x10 w/79mm offset will fit the rear with 1.25" spacers. I didn't have to roll my fenders with the 275/30/19 tires, but you may with the 295's. Also, make sure you get an Adj. pan hard bar to recenter the rear if you lower it.
Oh, the LS1 and LT1 cars do have different hub sizes, but I don't remember which one was bigger...it is possible you may have to enlarge the bore on the wheels on the OEM C6 wheels... Since I used 1.25" adapters, it didn't matter...

9.5" wide wheels will work fine as long as the offset is in the range of 45-56mm. Typically you will be using a 275 or 285mm section width tire.
Up until some point in the 1997 model year, the rear axle hub was something like 0.03" larger than the front hub. All four wheels on the car had hub holes large enough to ft over the rear hubs. The wheels were lug-centric. After 1997 the rear hub diameter was reduced to match the front hubs, and all four wheel hub holes match the smaller diameter. If you get a set of wheels from a later model car, it's just a matter of lightly sanding or Dremeling the inner diameter of the hub hole.... no big deal.

On the 18x9.5 all the way around did you have to use adapters to fit? Did they hubs have to be modified? Fenders still not rolled? Maybe I won't lower right now if it's too much trouble. I'd like it to look good but it needs to be driveable so my wife can use it if needed.
