NEED HELP 94 camaro z28 optispark distributor
here recently i purchased a 94 camaro z28 LT1 it had a few problems and was overheating so i had my mechanic replace the water pump and thermostat on it come to find out it was a simple loose radiator cap which i needed to replace all of that anyways the car has 121k miles on it and previous owners dont look like they took great care of it. the whole time it ran fine for a few days then i was driving down a road at about 40 and it just straight up died on me no engine sputter or putting like it wasnt getting fuel so thats why i dont think its a fuel problem i sat there trying to start it for 20 mins it would crank but wouldnt turn over then all the sudden about my 20th try it came to life i got home and its only started once since then i was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem like this maybe it got water in it from the water pump change but i dont know why it would kill it a couple days after. and one more thing i have looked up optisparks for my 94 i dont believe it is a vented optispark but i just dont know i looked under the car at it and didnt see the port on drivers side where it should be. main thing is i dont know if it it is spline driven or pin driven can someone please help me out with that please...

94 f-body cars had non-vented, spline drive optis from the factory. Rather than wonder that your problem might be related to the opti, you should scan for trouble codes. The most fatal of opti codes (16) does not cause the check engine light to come on. If you have a computer or laptop, can connect it with a cable and use free software to check your car. Look at the sticky post in the computer forum about the scan9495 program.

Re: NEED HELP 94 camaro z28 optispark distributor
I have a 94 Camaro z28 with only 36,000 miles that we purchased from a family friend who owned it for 20+ years. We have been having the same issues with it stalling out all the time. We have replaced the starter and a few other parts but nothing has fixed the issue. Any help would be great.

Describe the stalling problem in detail.... when does it happen... only on cold start, only when the engine is warm, all the time? Does it stutter and stumble before it stalls, or does it just instantly cut off? Does it restart easily after the stall, or does it take extended cranking?
