Are the metal replacement headlight motor gears still around?
I remember I replaced one a long long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Are these things still available or is the best bet to get a new headlight motor these days?

Yes, they are. I recommend the ones from Rodney Dickman because they are the type that uses the rubber cushion in the gear. Also his gears include the cushion and a special T-brace to keep the box cover in place if (or when) the glue fails.

Also available in aluminum.

Sig,
The motor works no problem. Just have that grinding noise plus the headlight pops up when I turn on the parking lights. I replaced my passenger side years ago with the brass gear.
Did you replace your entire headlight motor instead of the gear?
