Guys, i need some help badly!
Hey every, i am really confused. i ordered a new balancer hub for my 94 LT-1 and i have a question....i noticed on my crankshaft that there is a place for a key way to be inserted. My new hub does not have a notch to accommodate this key way....Am i missing something or is this correct? If this is correct, can someone explain to me the need for the key in the end of the crank shaft? i am sorry for the questions, but i am trying to learn...

The stock hub has no keyway. Some aftermarket dampers will come with a key. I know my ATI damper has one. They aren't concerned about the damper on the stock engine, because that's all it is - just a harmonic damper, not a balancer. Position on the crank doesn't matter. There is an arrow on the crank and a mark on the hub that was indexed to TDC when it left the factory, but there's no guarantee it hasn't moved or been replaced in a different location.
