They can be in the range of a LS1 but they are not equal to a LS1.

this subject has been beating to death since the LS1 came out, the search button is your friend...LS1 makes about 50 more hp stock on average...its a completely different design as compared to the sbc/LT1 and is all aluminum, but the power increase is largly attributed to the better flowing heads/intake design

LT1 V. LS1? well there is no comparing. two completly different engines. in every aspect the LS1 is the better engine period. and before i am attacked, just from my experience and knowlege of the two engines i can comfortably say that the LS1 is and will be better than the LT1. sure if you mod these few things in the LT1 it may run the LS1 but blabla it goes on. fact of the matter is stock for stock, stock WS6 LT1 or stock LS1 Formula it doesnt matter the LS1 will come out on top every time if driver is equal. my $.02 there are a billion LT1 V. LS1 threads... why wont they Die!!!!!!!

This is true, Which is why the LS1 is the LT1's predecessor..Plain and simple, Its why the block is used

I think the real problem here is some LT1 owners being annoyed by CERTAIN LS1 owners who think their LS1 is god..In which case, Everyone knows isnt true

thank you!, im sure you have eaten a few LS1's and the LT1 is very capable, and most LS1 owners including myself know that it is not "touched by the hand of god" i mean hell the LS1 is slowly taking the back seat to the LS2 now and it goes on.... i am just sick and tired of hearing about the LS1 V. LT1. it is just rediculus. i am done venting gentlemen.... carry on
