Leak from under dash

Leak from under dash
Yesterday i noticed that under the dash on the passenger side water was beginning to puddle up on the floor mat. After taking a closer look it seems as if the car is leaking from under the dash behind the center console. Does anyone know what this may be and has anyone encountered this before? Any and all help is appreciated.

Re: Leak from under dash
Thanks for your help. Seeing a puddle on my floor kinda startled me last night. Would it still leak if i was driving without the AC on? Where can i get a new heater core also?

Re: Leak from under dash
Two good possibilities. Heater core or the a/c condensate drain is clogged. Was it water or coolant that was puddling?
The heater core is still pressurized no matter if the heat or a/c is on, so if it has a leak, it's gonna leak. You should be able to get a core at most auto supply places.

Re: Leak from under dash
Sounds more like the evaporator drain is clogged. Im not sure what the heater box looks like on the f bodys, but Ive seen the water also get into the blower motor so be careful of that.

It's the evaporator hole that is plugged. I had this same problem this spring. If you look at the black plastic casing the under the hood where the AC lines enter the car, there is a hole underneath that. You can only see it from under the car. It's on the passenger side, near the firewall. It's hard to see. Get a flashlight and a long screwdriver and just poke into that hole. When I did this, all sorts of water started pouring out on me. It was clogged. I had water on my passenger floormat just like you before I cleaned out the hole. It's been great ever since.
Shoebox has a picture of it somewhere I think.
