Re: Jacking points

I put my rear wheels on a couple of spare wheels first using my floor jack under the differential. I used a 2x4 across thse rims to get a little extra height. Then put my 2 floor jacks under the k member & raised it & put blocks under the jacking points where the fenders & doors meet. I then put my jack on a block, went up higher putting 2x4s on the front blocks until I could work laying on my back. I disconnected everything and used both floor jacks under the struts & a bottle jack under the tranny to lower it all onto harbor freight furniture dollies. Once onto those I used a long 2x4, on my floor jack, across the brace under the radiator to raise the car & add more 2x4s on the front blocks. Did that until I could roll the whole assembly out the front of the car. I had 2x4s on the jacks 2 and 3 at a time, on blocks & 2x6s, just inching my way up. I got the idea watching carmen on the railroad use this method to pull axles from under rail cars. Take your time and work safe, all the while watching close in case ya get hung up on something.
