Simply enter your VIN and see how rare any options combination is.

I found out that my car is 1 of 4 Z28 Convertibles with M6 in my same paint color. 1 of 2 with a graphite interior.

Don't rely on the rarity statements on that site (though yours might be truly rare). There have been tons of people that come back with 1 of 1 or 1 of 2. That part of the info seems a bit sketchy. It's got everyone thinking they have a one-off car.

Well, yeah, both my Camaro and Corvette show as 1 of 1 when I put them in.

Did you read the sight? That is very misleading. It's only 1 of 1 when you consider every single RPO code the vehicle was built with. - not that impressive really.

You need to narrow it down more. Uncheck all the boxes and just check the ones for paint color, transmission and model.

All I left checked was (Z28) (MN6) and Dark Green Gray paint, and I got 1 in 4cars built.

That is because by default it compares your car based on ALL the RPO codes it was built with. Given that, it's really not shocking at all that everyone gets 1 of 1 on the initial comparison.

What you have to do is clear out all the check boxes and re-select just a choice few.

I only selected 3 checkboxes and got 1 of 4 convertibles built.

1) Z28
2) MN6
3) my paint color

No kidding. I called all over the place and nobody was able to tell me how many dark green gray Z28s were made in 94 with a 6-speed.

Thanks to this website I have the answer!!

My ubiquitous 97 Grand Prix GT comes back as 1 of 1. That's totally absurd for me to think there was not another GP optioned exactly the same.

Not buying it.

My 1996 oldsmobile is 1 of 18 when you compare it based on all 253 RPO codes it references. Yet I see cars that look exactly like it around town all the time. If I narrow it down to cars the same color with the same wheels I have I get 1 of 3,999. Not as impressive - explains why I see them around regularily. I'm sure your GT has a similar amount. Given that, I don't think it's any shock at all that it ends up being 1 of 1 based on 250 or so different codes. To get a REAL number you need to clear out all the check boxes and select just a few basic ones - like color, model level, and transmission type.

Once you realize this, the numbers on the web site make sense.

If you PM me your VIN I'll do some fiddling on that website to help make my point.
