How much HP can stock internals and clutch hold?
So,
How much HP can stock internals and clutch hold?
Im thinking up bumping up my 2002 camaro up to around 425 HP with SLP performance pack and a new intake manifold.
Would I need to change anything out? IE Folged internals, new clutch ECT...
Thanks!!!

Re: How much HP can stock internals and clutch hold?
what SLP pack is gonna get you that much power...
cai, lid, intake manifold, headers and a good catback will get you up to about 340hp at the wheels give or take.
more than enough in the stock clutch to hold that.
but 425hp will require at least a stg 3 clutch or equivalent.
i know i dynoed 380 to the wheels with my new cam and the clutch was slipping, with only 60k miles.
so i went crazy and did the stg 4 spec clutch good to 700+ hp

Don't beleive the SLP advertised numbers, they are all
Your car's stock Z06 clutch assembly will hold up to bolt ons and a cam without any problem
The first weak points you will come across (as I did) will likley be the slave/master cylinder and/or throwout bearing. Get a nice master/slave cylinder setup, do the drill mod, and get a stronger throwout bearing, and you should be fine for a while
