Re: How to get new keys for a 1993 Z28 ?
This series of Camaros require the chip-embedded key set for the ignition. They can be created with VIN and proof of ownership, such as title or registration. My GM (Buick) dealer will make them for about $35.00. The Chevy dealer charges much more here.
The thief problem is that some dealers don't really verify who the actual owner is. That should not happen. The door and trunk keys definitely have to have proper blanks, or they won't work, and only occassionally operate properly. I've some that would only work turned one way, but not the other.
