homemade sf connectors???

Re: homemade sf connectors???
if you have a shop with a lift and welders and cutting tools and access to raw materials...it's doable.
but when you can buy some powder coated for $140....it's hard to justify the expense

I had mine custom made by the shop that installed my roll bar. They are made of chrome moly tubing. In retrospect, I probably would have been better off getting some ready-made ones, so they would have tucked into the rocker panels a little better. You'd need a good tubing bender to get them tucked away, out of sight.
Without knowing what year your car is, we're just guessing though. Might want to add a "signature" with basic info like the year of your car, major mods, etc. That way people can give you a more accurate answer.

Hows that, also can i just use square tubing, because that will tuck in nicely and i dont think i would have to use a bend pipe because the square tube will fit snug to the rear mount.

Why could you not use square tubing? It doesn't matter. BMR, for example, makes them both ways:

Don't know exactly what the wall thickness is on the ones you can buy, but I would think anything short of solid bar stock would be great, the stronger the better.

The easiest way to get your sizes is to cut some cardboard to the same size tubing you want to use (if I was making them I would use 2" x 3" rectangular tube for ease of working) and make a set of templates for each side. This way you know they will fit your car.
Just so you know, the 2 x 3 x 3/16 or x 1/4 wall tubing as rem steel will cost as much as a set from e-bay and then you have to fabricate it and paint it. Mine came from ebay and fit like a charm. You can't see them on the car - unless you are underneath it, and they came already powder coated. They were only $100 plus shipping and showed up on my door in 4 days.
