High/Low Beam Toggle has trouble working.

Sometimes when I try to change from low beams to high, the switch does not click, and the lights do not change. Usually to counter this I can tilt my steering wheel up high and change the lights then. I have a 93 Z28 and my girlfriend has a 94 V6 and she has the same problem. Does anyone know what is causing this, can I fix it myself, or how much it will cost/what will have to be done to fix it? Thanks for the help.

I have the same exact problem. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It almost always works if I put the wheel up high, just like you. I've been wondering what this is all about.

Re: High/Low Beam Toggle has trouble working.

You probalby need to adjust the switch position. The rod that activates it may not be engaging it all the way. The switch is on the lower part of the steering column, under the dash. You can see some pictures of it in my ignition switch replacement guide on my Tech Page.

Re: High/Low Beam Toggle has trouble working.

What do I need to remove to get to this? The big flat panel with the two screws or what/what else?

The ignition switch guide previously mentioned should show you how to get to it. It depends on how flexible you are as to how much access you need.
