Headlight motor.

I have a 94 Formula. When you turn the lights off the driver side keeps going and going till it finally stops. Both lights go up and down just fine. The motor just keeps running.

Is there anyway to make it to the head lights to popup unless the headlights are on? looks weird with the lights up and only the parking lights on ya know?

Thanks

Re: Headlight motor.

Your headlights should be down all the time unless the lights are on...Your descibing the symptoms of a stripped headlight motor gear...just buy a brass gear off ebay or someone here and put it in.

Re: Headlight motor.

There down all the time till i turn on either the parking lights or the headlights. You wouldnt think they would popup if only the parking lights are on though.

Or are you talking about the continous runnin?

Re: Headlight motor.

It's probably the gear in the motor. Search for "headlight fix".

Re: Headlight motor.

Motor runs and makes grinding noise, headlights pop-up when only the parking lights are turned on, headlights pop-up when arming the alarm... all symptoms of a stripped gear. I have one too and feel your pain. Good news is there's a cheaper alternative then buying a $200+ motor. These links will tell ya more then ya ever want to know about it and where to buy:
