Engine break-in after piston replacement?

Quick question. I just had some work done on my 01 SS including a piston replacement. Is it necessary to have a break in period and if so what would you recommend? I've been seeing mixed opinions.

It's probably way too late for this to be helpful, but I think your piston ring manufacturer would be the authority on this. Find out what rings were used and contact that company for advice.
