Electrical Problem....Please Help!!!!

Hello all,

I am hoping that someone out there can help me. I have a 2000 Camaro SS with an annoying problem.

With the stereo connected, there is a very small constant draw that will drain a battery if the car is not started every 2 days.

It is an after-market head unit wired properly. I have put an ampmeter on the car, and the draw goes away when the stereo is unhooked.

I had the stereo installed when i first got the car, so I am not sure if the OE stereo also had the same issues.

Has anyone else had these same issues? Does anyone out there know where I can get a wiring diagram of my car for the stereo to see if there are amps in line somewhere that could be causing the draw?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The radio will draw some power when off to maintain the memory and such, but it should be in the milliamp range.

You might poke around at http://www.fbodyaudio.com/site.php?page=home.html .

Thanks, Ill check there.

Yeah, I know that the head will draw some to keep memory and such. I thought maybe there was a short in the head, but I replaced it, and no luck.

I just dont get what could be causing this.
