driver's side Window problem!!!

The window goes up and down, but some type of braket broke and the glass moves to the sides. I was hoping perhaps someone knows which part# I need so I can order it before I take the door covers appart

Thanks!
Leo

Re: driver's Window problem!!!

I suggest pulling the panel and seeing just what broke. You might just call the dealer and have them fax you a print out of the mechanism so that you know what to look for and it should include the part number.

If the cost is too much, go to your local chev bone yard and pull the part. JMHO

Thanks BUBBA,

I though perhaps it was a very common thing, everybody knew what it was

Re: driver's Window problem!!!

Yeah you should really pull the door panel off first. This happened a few weeks ago in my tacoma and what ended up happening was the bolts that hold the regulator in place, some were missing and some were really loose. They have basically the same setup as our car so take a look. My window on the truck would move back and fourth and you could pull it up. Also it was leaving oily smears and ruined my tint.

Re: driver's Window problem!!!

Does the window rattle real bad when it is down all the way, but not when it is sticking up just above the weather stripping? If so it is a common thing in the early 4th gens. 93-94. I just replaced it last week on the passenger side of my '94 and did the driver side about 2 years ago. It is either the brackets on the ouside of the door(connected to the weather stripping), or the adjustible brackets on the inside of the door. My guess is the weather striping brackets, because they rout out, but when you replace the weather stripping they have fixed the problem. if you have any more questions about this problem just pm me

Re: driver's Window problem!!!

Thanks Lower,
I took a look yesterday and ordered the part already... It was the same part that failed in your window... now I'm a little worry about doing it myself. (I can't afford breaking the window because I'm moving on Frieday) Once the part arrives I'll see if I do it myself or have some one else take risk
