I have a 1995 Trans Am, and my battery only tends to last about 11 months before I have to replace it. I have checked everything to make sure nothing is dragging the battery down, but everything comes up ok. I even had GM look at it. Is this common? Has anybody else ever had this issue? And if so, what should I do about it?

No a battery should last alot longer than that. Make sure the console lid is shutting completely. I finally took the lightbulb out of my console. May not be your problem but it's worth checking.

While the engine is running, use a meter and check the voltage at the battery terminals to be sure it's charging properly.

Hope you're buying batteries that have a long exchange period.

Personally, I would check the current draw while everything was off. There should be little to no current draw. Then you could start checking sub-systems, perhaps at the fuse boxes.

My daughters Honda accord just developed the same problem.We turned off the alarm system,and the problem went away.Hope this helps(1993).

I've seen the pop out buttons in the doors that the control the lighting cause small draws... Just enough to draw down the battery, but still enough contact to operate normally.

Hit them with some WD-40 or Silicone Spray and clear off any rust on them so they operate smoothly...

Maybe not your issue, but an easy place to start!
