Cruse control (Freaky)

Ok well i was on a 600 mile trip and i though i would hit my CC(it has never worked) Well it did not work. well about ten mile down the road i went to let off the gas and hit the brake and it kinda felt like the CC was on. well i sped back up and hit the CC agian and it worked. but about 10 miles down the road i looked down and i am doing about 85 (started at 75) i was like WTF i hit the brakes and got back down to 75 hit the gas and the CC kicked in by its self. and then it started to speed up then kick down into passing gear and took off. i hit the brakes and it kinda made a clicking sound and disingaged the CC well as soon as i hit the gas it did it again. What is up with my CC??????? also i have no CC light on the dash.

Re: Cruse control (Freaky)

I would look into replacing the cruise control lever. It might be the source of the problems of why it never works, and maybe its sticking in the accelerate position. If the cruise still doesn't work consistantly you may want to get a new cruise control module. A search under my name in this forum may help you a little.

Check all the hoses to/from the cruise control for leaks too.

Maybe i'm wrong but i don't believe the cruise works off vaccum anymore. I'm pretty sure its all electronic.

You could be right. I've never had a problem with mine so I haven't looked closely. Ignore my post if there are no vacuum lines for our cruise.

I know the cruise control module is operated by electronics because i've messed with it, but that doesn't mean the system some where else doesn't rely on vaccum.
