The adapter info does not apply to your car. Your car has a 12 pin DLC (not a 16 pin) and need no adaptation to a normal OBD-I scanner cable.

Those other "scanners" are not really scanners. They do the same thing you can do with a paper clip, but neither will work on your car. 1993 was the last year you could flash trouble codes on an LT1 f-body.

Purely OBD-I scanners seem to be hard to find these days. The computer forum has good info about PC/laptop software (scan9495) you can use with a cable to do scanning and much more for only the cost of the cable.

Okay i have a CP9125 OBD2 scanner can i buy a ALDL connector locally and attach it to my obd2 scanner to make it work on my camaro? something crazy just happend to me i woke up to a turd on the back of my car i have to find which neighbor did this

Your 94 is OBD-1. How would you be able to read the codes with an CP9125 OBD-2 scanner.... won't work.

The Innova 3120 is, in theory an OBD-1 compatible scanner. Unfortunately is has a bug in the code lookup tables, and reference the wrong vehicle, producing a list of 8 or 10 codes for the OBD-1 LT1 cars, even though there are no codes. GaryDoug, who wrote the Scan9495 software discovered this problem, when we started getting people posting lists of codes that made no sense at all. No, won't work.

The "sticky" on Scan9495 tells you where to get a cable. There are two fairly reliable sources. Chinese parts to make your own are not reliable.

thank you i have this scanner downloaded but i misplaced the cords and this car is my DD and i dont see these at local stores only online. in the mean time while i wait for my cords to come in is there anything you guys can have me do to try to fix the problem without scanning? i know its like chasing your own tail if u dont know the codes but this eractic idle just started happening after i disconnected the old radiator and installed a new one. there must of been an error somewhere in the installation that messed up the A/f ratio. i cleaned the TB a couple of days before i did the radiator change but it ran fine actually better than before. i am getting the SES light which makes me think maybe a vacumm leak or something? i pressure tested the radiator and got 18lbs for about 5-10minutes then went down to 15lbs and i took it off. Would this indicate a leak. i wish i didnt have a 94....

Reading the "Summary" on that page, it is for OBD-2, and is intended to allow you to patch in a remote starter kit, probably by overriding some of the things in the PCM that prevent remote starter operation.

okay well i cleaned the TB pretty good and the eractic idle has stopped so im going to drive it to autozone and have it scanned will report back with codes tomorrow morning turns out autozone only does 96+ so im going to go to pepboys instead

Appears you (or Pep Boys) used an Innova 3120 OBD-1/OBD-2 scanner. This scanner does not work on the LT1. GaryDoug, who developed Scan94/95, found that when you enter the engine code for the LT1, the Innova goes to the wrong lookup table and gives erroneous codes. For example, 52 and 54 are not valid codes for the LT1.

You do not have those codes.
