Hmmm.... since you already own the car, you must know how many gears there are in the "automatic".... did you ever feel it shift 4 times? Not likely, since it has a 4L60E electronically controlled 4-speed automatic tranny.

You can't believe everyting you see in print. That website has an obvious "typo".... the numbers they give for the "5-speed automatic" are in fact the numbers for the 5-speed manual. Read the paragraph above the table you copied:
Base engine was a 3.4-liter V6 (an enlargement of the former 3.1-liter), delivering 160 horsepower. Either 5-speed manual shift or a 4-speed overdrive automatic might be installed.
Or you might want to try reading the 4th Gen F-Body FAQ... start on Page 1 - you have a lot to learn . Then come back and tell us what automatic tranny is in the 4th Gen V6 F-Body:
