Convertable top

say i was racing a guy with my top down on the freeway going from like 65 to 130 or so.... if my top is down while i do that does it effect my car's acceleration?

I'm sure it does, but probably nothing too noticable. Think about how air flows, though.. as soon as it comes off the windshield, wheres the next space it can occupy? The back seats.

IMO is makes a big difference. It will make your car a LOT slower expecially at high speed. Having the top down increases the drag coefficient a lot because the air cycles back into the cabin and causes resistance. Its more noticeable the faster you go. If you consider that if there was no such thing as wind resistance a 300hp car could essentially go exactly twice as fast as a 150hp car of the same weight.
