when i bought my car i didnt know the cat had been removed (was a bigger noob then i am now)The check engine light was on and the guy said it just needed the rear 02 well it's gone and so's the cat. What's the cheapest way to get this light removed and stay off? I've heard tunes, but what place is the best i've heard of like 3 or 4!

You still haven't added a "signature" with basic info about your car.... so people are not able to help you. I think I remember from a previous post where I asked for the car info, that you have a 94 Trans AM. Your 94 had a single cat, and did not have an after-cat O2 sensor. After-cat sensors were not used in OBD-I, they were not added until they adapted OBD-II in 96.
So your check engine light is not on because the cat is missing - there is no way for OBD-I to check the presence or operability of the cat.
Get it scanned, and find out what the code is really for.

PS:
To add a signature, go to "User CP" on the red task bar at the top of every page. Left click, then left click on "Edit Signature". When the signature screen pops up, enter basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That information will be appended to the bottom of every post (unless you unclick the "show your signature" box in the lower right corner of the "message" screen), and people will be able to answer your questions better.
