Can anyone tell me what this engine came out of?
Can anyone by any chance tell me for sure what this engine is and what it is out of? S/N numbers in front of the passenger side head are 13F194226 V03I5HH. Rear casting numbers behind the driver head are 3914678. If you need any other numbers just let me know. I bought it years ago and its been sitting in the corner of the garage, It was sold to me as a 327, with double hump heads, I dont know anything about it other than it does have double hump heads. Thanks

the first # you provide will tell you the assembly plant, 13f194226. it brakes down as 1=chevy, the next # is where it gets weird. are you sure its a 3 and not an 8 as this # is the year the truck was made ( either 1963 or 73 or 83 ) and chevy didn't stamp the serial # on the head pad in 63 and in 73 they didn't make a 327 .lets assume its an 8 which would be a 1968 which fits with the casting # . next is the assembly plant (the F) abbreviation, which is either Fairfax Kansas or flint Michigan truck line. Fairfax was opened in 1987 so rule that out so it looks like a truck motor. the rest of the # is the trucks vin with the first number meaning nothing and the rest being the sequence . the 94,226th truck off the line that year

now from what i know is that after 1969 they started putting a C or T in front the last set of lettering to tell you if it's a C=car or T= truck, an you saying the last 0f the numbers from pad on the passagers side in front of head is HH you can go to hotrodder.com they have a listing of about all chevy engines small an big blocks! so being yopu dont have a C or T i'd say it's a pre 69 block, an does it have the pcv breath in back the block near the dist. ? if so it's a small jornal block also on back the block should be a date coding exsample F-21-8 F is mouth count what letter it is in the ABC's an F is 6 so be 6th month 21 day of 58 or 68 or 78 0r so on but need to know few other ways of looking at a block to tell a round about year!!

http://www.nastyz28.com/gm-chevy-cod...s-suffix-5.php from what i found hh is a 1965 or 66 327 or a 1969 350 so if it's a 65 or 66 block it will have a pcv valve breath in back of block near dist. an if it dont than you have a 350, an it's listed as a vette engine!
