Camaro or Firebird
hello im new here at cz28 and im also new to driving.........as in gettting my liscence. Although im thinking alittle to far ahead im still wanting to save up and get an F-body. I havent decided which I want to buy yet but i have narrowed it down to a Firebird Trans Am WS6 OR a Z28 Camaro somewhere 3rd generation or latest model. Can i get some info on both cars or just one if you only know about one to help my decision making.
thanks

If I could do it again, I would of gotten the Black T-top Formula. Don't get me wrong, I love my Conv. Z. It's just when I drive my mom's Firebird the interior just seems classier and the lines look better. Besides the WS6 has a bad *** hood

If you're new to driving, it might be best to start out with something with less power, and something you won't mind seeing get crunched up a little. Just about everyone gets into something with their first car. I know I did. I'm glad I waited till my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th car to get nice F-Body's.
But when the time comes, you can never go wrong with a black TA

RS Dragster beat me to it ....
Your first car needs to be somewhat of a beater. I had a 10 year old Toyota Corolla for my first car ... smacked a tree with it. Fortunately, all I needed was a $50 brown passenger side door from a salvage yard and you couldn't even tell ....... oh, except for the fact that the car was silver and that door was brown.
I'd suggest that you get something a little less powerful than the 4th gen cars at first. A 3rd gen will still look good, but will have cheaper insurance premiums. If you look around, you'll find a great deal.
Case in point ... private dealer here in Memphis has a theft recovery. It's an '88 IROC, T-Top with 350 engine (VERY hard to find 350 w/ T-Tops). The car is in great shape, but people are afraid to buy it because the thief ripped off the dash VIN plate (still has VIN stickers everywhere else). The title is clean and they repainted the car in the original color. $1,500.
That would be a GREAT car for you. 350 in a 3rd gen with T-Tops. When you get ready to upgrade to a 4th gen, keep that 3rd gen in the garage.
