Blinker Problems

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has any advice, I'm kinda stumped. My drivers side turn indicator has gone out and I replaced the burnt out bulb. However it istill showing that the indicator is out. The passenger side indicator is fine and the fuse was fine. Wondering if its the hazard flasher canister. Anyone else have this problem??
Thanks!
Mike

Re: Blinker Problems

Yeah, I did. I ended up having to replace the socket. Easy enough.
They're like $40 from the dealer, but maybe Pep Boys or somebody carries them.

Re: Blinker Problems

Yeah the socket gets super hot (obviously) so they get brittle and kinda rot from the inside out. I never had to replace the socket but I have some ones that look pretty bad.

Re: Blinker Problems

I was having problems with the front indicators as well...but more of a moisture problem. When the signal wouldn't work I would just take out the bulb, clean/dry out the socket and replace with the same bulb. 99% of the time it was just some moisture and not a burned out bulb. But I can definantly agree that the sockets will basically burn themselves out...very black and charred inside both sides. I should probably replace both sockets...meah! I took apart the plastic lens and re-sealed from the inside out...no probs for a year+ so far.
