Re: Big Block in 4th gen
You can but there are lots of 11 and 10 second LT1/LS1 cars, quite a few in the 9s, some in the 8s and lower. To my knowledge those are all SBC cars, the ones I'm thinking of at least. I'd say stick with the LT1/LS1, rather than the hassle of trying to make a BBC fit (I'm positive the stock LS1 k-member wouldn't fit with any other kind of engine, etc etc)

Re: Big Block in 4th gen
HERE is a 402 LS2 shortblock that would make any 4th gen F-body both unique and fast. 402 cubic inches is right up there with big blocks, and the LS2 is a aluminum small block! The best of both worlds, for a mere $3945.00.
It would be pretty unique, too. I can see the 402 emblems on the fenders already.

But then again, a 408 LS1 would work fine for me

Re: Big Block in 4th gen
The price/power ratio for a big block is why people consider them. I thought long and hard about a BB in my 4th gen and may someday do it. Lot's of weight up front is a big reason why I haven't gone that way. An aluminum big block ups the cost at least another $2k.
