asr problems

i have a 97 z28 m6 and just recently my "asr off" light keeps turning on by itself. Ive removed the rear abs sensors and cleaned then and still nothing. asr turns off randomly but if i switch it off it will stay off.

Re: asr problems

There are numerous faults in the EBTCM system that will turn on the light and deactivate the system. Way more than just the rear sensors. Best thing to do is have the ABS/ASR module scanned for codes.

Re: asr problems

It takes a high end scanner to read it, typically a GM Tech-2. There have been a couple low cost generic ABS scanners released over the last year that may work with ASR. But it's a different scanner than the PCM scanner.

Re: asr problems

I suspect Snap-On makes them as well.
