Re: Adjust Miles?

No real reason to have it done m8. I just hate having a ton of miles on my car. Granted 55,000 on 93 isnt bad, I wanna keep it in that range. Ive done alot of engine work anyways, so in theory, the engine is probably more like at 40,000 miles. But whateva

Re: Adjust Miles?

Just buy a used gauge cluster out of another 93 car with less miles on it Believe me, its VERY easy to swap them.

Re: Adjust Miles?

I know this is off-topic, but I've gotta ask...

hsyr: What planet do you think you can sell a 94Z with those mods for 11.5? I say maybe 7.. if you find a sucker..

I really hope you aren't counting on your "lower miles" (as you seem to imply you've done before) to get you a higher selling price..

Re: Adjust Miles?

I don"t see what the big deal is. Maybe he is trying to knock a couple miles off for emissions? I'm sure he isn't the first guy to do that!

Im not the most law abiding citizen, but your a f**khead.I know I've had to work hard for everything I've had and I would be pissed if I were to buy a car which I thought had X amount of miles and it ended up being twice that. Its twice as bad being a camaro because you'd be ripping off a fellow enthusiest

Re: Adjust Miles?

Its not hard to do and doesn't require any special tools. I did the one on my car. Not to scam anyone, but i installed a used TA dash in my Z so i rolled it back to 000000. I'll tell anyone it has 145k+3k more. I doubt anyone would believe me anyways since they see there is a new dash.

So you consider it shady to do to when people completely restore a car and turn them back to zero? I don't think its wrong if you aren't trying to con people, like this guy is. I just did it because there is no point in me installing a TA dash with 99k on it in my car that already had 145k on it. So i figured i would set it to zero. If my TA dash said 145k on it who is saying someone would believe that, its obvious i don't have the original one.

Re: Adjust Miles?

I bought a new cluster to get the 150 MPH speedo and it had about 40,000 miles les than my stock one had, I was thinking about turning the miles up, just to make all the records accurate. I think its BS that the prices on cars are determined so much by the mileage, some cars that have been taken care of or had most of the wear parts replaced are woth less than cars that have been abused and or not fixed properly because of the numbers on the dial.

So let me get this straight, you want to lower the odometer because you hate having miles on the car?? I don't know if you realize this or not but if the car has 55,000 miles and you turn it back to whatever it may be 50,000 or 10,000.... Guess what the car still has 55,000 miles on it!! regaurdless of what the odometer reads.. And how does doing engine work lower the miles the engine has on it?? Unless you've done a full rebuild I'd say it still has 55,000 on it
