!AC, Yes I want to delete AC

I know not many people do this but is it really worth the time...? My AC doesn't work it just blows out hot air so I was thinking trying to recharge it first or put on a AC delete pulley...I know this subject is kind of a personal opinion but I just want some feedback on the whole idea. I live in AZ I know I know it's hot as hell but I'm used to it it doesn't bother cuz I never NEVER use AC in my cars, I always have the windows down. Also I love how clean the engine bay looks with no AC junk in the way...So what do you guys think?

Like you said...it's all a matter of opinion, if you already drive around without using it, then sure go ahead and delete it; however, I would keep everything in case you decide to sell it so you can put the A/C back on it since I'm sure that is one thing someone in Arizona would like to have on a car.

how much power will it free up? I'm from PA and I NEVER NEVER use A/C....Northwestern PA sees very fews nice days, even during the spring and summer (it just stopped snowing less than a week ago) and I like to have the windows down every chance I can.
Opinions aside, would an AC delete return a noticable change.

Friend of mine has A/C in his mid 10 second firebird and I'm planning on keepng my A/C too

But if you don't use it go ahead and take it off but I don't think you will gain any HP but you will shave roughly 10#s off of your car

No, only weight savings.

You have to dump the ENTIRE HVAC system for it to be worth it, heater core included. Then it's about 80lbs for the entire system. (blower/compressor/lines/heater core/condensor)

Doing that wouldn't you have no more defroster?

Pick yourself up an A/C delete pulley and you are good to go.

Actually as soon as you remove the A/C your defroster is impaired. Around 30% of the defrosters function actually comes from the a/c. The heaters job is to heat up the glass to prevent moisture from condensing onto it on the inside and to melt any ice on the outside, while the A/C's job is to dry out the air before it hits the windshield. If theres no ice in your area you can actually make do entirely without the heater. I drove to Florida without a heater and the temperatures got damn near freezing but it still removed water from my windshield with just the A/C and no heater core.

i live in jersey, but i did the ac delete pulley, pretty cheap from gm and fairly easy to install, it freed up one hell of alot of room for me on the passenger side, you can do all plugs and wires withing a couple minutes now if only the driveside was that easy . living in arizona i would say you would probably need the ac. It is all wether u can deal wit the heat or not. My entire interior is black ws6 interior and on those sunny days i sometimes regret it but its something i can live without.

If you go to sell the car you are going to take a hit. If that does not matter to you then go for it. I had the entire AC system deleted from my Mustang, and that was in North Carolina heat and humidity.
