AC trouble shooting
Hey Guys, I have a 94 z-28 that I have been trying to get some air conditioning in. I just charged up the system thinking that this might be the issue. Not so. The compressor will not ingage. There is a high pressure switch that has a three conductor wire going to it. I wanted to know if there is a way to test if the switch is bad, or jump the switch to see if the compressor will engage? I didn't want to short something improtant out so I am calling out for some tech support. I checked the fuses in the car and the relay and fuse box in the engine compartment.....all looks good nothing blown, cant tell about the relays. Let me know if there is something that can be done. Thanks for your help. Matt

Re: AC trouble shooting
When the system pressure gets low enough, the PCM will inhibit compressor operation and throw a trouble code. Clearing the code or resetting the PCM will again allow the compressor to run. You can scan for trouble codes to look for this condition.
