Have you checked the R134A charge level in the AC?

When you say it gets "hot" and the fans don't run, what kind of temperatures are you seeing on the dash gauge?

Re: AC is running hot and my radiator fans not working

i just checked the lvls, i filled it up, and after about 2 hours it was low again, so it would seem i have a leak

the car's temp will get right in the middle 50% of the guage, normally the fans kick on when the gauge goes to 25%

GM intended the engine to run at the mid-point of the temp gauge (~210*F). I don't know the set points for the V6's, but the 93-97 V8's turn the low speed fans on at 226*F and the high speed at 235*F. Those are both above the mid-point of the guage.
