Question AC compressor question

My AC compressor is not working, if I'm planning on not replacing it will I need to put an AC delete pulley or will I not have an issue leaving the compressor as it is. I ask because I had an old Jeep Cherokee with the same issue. The compressor locked up on me eventually and strained the belt, snapping it. Anyways, any info will help thanks.

it should be just fine leaving it unless the clutch can't spin freely. You can just pull the relay under the hood for the AC clutch and then you can use the HVAC stuff without ever engaging the compressor. The clutch won't engage, and will just act as a free pulley.
