Angry ? about sump in gas tank and fuel system

i got a sump in my tank and im going to run -10 fuel lines.. my ? is the sump has two holes for fittings.. is the right one for the fuel line that goes to the pump,? and the left hole in the tank, is that for the return coming from the regulator??? i was wondering this cause i dont know if the regulator will push all the fuel back into the tank, is that what the two holes in my sumped gas tank is for..where would the return line from the regulator go????

any help

extra line

no! you can not return the fuel to the other fitting you must return the fuel to the top of the tank the extra fitting can be used for a dedicated nos fuel system or you can plug it some of the carb guys will run two fuel pumps to keep the volume up but with an electric fuel pump that is not nessasary thats why i converted my origanal factory feed line coming out of the top of the tank as my return it will accept a 6an coupler

Ditto...... The two outlets in the weld-on tank sumps are so you can hook up two pumps, if necessary. You generally weld a connection for a return line to the top of the tank. Also, don't go overboards on line sizes.... the larger the supply line from the pump to the rails, the more force you have pushing back on the pump on a hard launch, and the larger the sudden drop in fuel pressure will be on launch, just when you need max fuel pressure/flow. I've run 800HP through a -6AN supply and return, and I've seen a similar system support 1,000HP. You do want to run at least a -10AN suction line to the pump.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but do any of you have a pic of your tank, out of the car? I'd like to see the return line at the top.

return line

sorry tank is still in car the factory feed line is the same as a 6an line slide over tube sleve and tube nut put on a single flare and your set up for stainless braided line keeps it clean no welding on the top of the tank

If you have a stock recirculated tank.... e.g. 4th Gen... you have a return line connection on the module at the top of the tank, you can use that... no need to weld anything on. If you've done away with the factory pump module and fuel lines, that's when you need a welded connection. If you've deleted the fuel pump module, you could just weld the return connection to whatever sort of cover you made to cover the hole where the stock module goes. You could probably get away without welding, if you used an -AN "bulkhead fitting" with good, fuel resistant gaskets.

Maybe I'm missing the point here, but it seems to be getting over-complicated. I use the stock module to hold an upgraded Bosch intank pump, and a welded -10AN fitting, and internal screen for the bottom/rear of the tank to feed a 2nd Bosch pump that only runs when the nitrous system is armed. The stock fuel lines have been replaced with -6AN on both supply and return. Like I said, easilly supports 800HP including 300HP of dry nitrous.
