? about electric exaust cutouts?

how long does it take for them to open ? could you wire up a switch to turn them on and off , and another to the throttle linkage ( like nos switch) to open them when at wot, and then they will close for normal crusing , driving , can this be done ?

I have a mccord, takes about 4 seconds I guess. Never seen one hooked to throttle but that would be cool...

i thought of the same thing a while ago, but since they take so long to open it really wouldnt make much sense i don't think

if you wanted to, you could just rig up a standard full-throttle switch and wire it right into the cutout.

but since most of the time you need to feather the throttle off the line to prevent spinning, then it takes 4 seconds to open, you are about 1/2 way through the average race.

i'd say its easier to just mount the normal switch in an easily accessable spot so you can hit it whenever you need

My QTECs are about 4-5 seconds to open fully.

Don't know where you read about instant opens, that sure would be nice though.

I have a DMH cut-out. It takes about 4 seconds to open or close. The delay is to long to do what you want.
