Are the 98-02 tail lights prone to crack?

My passenger side tail light signal stopped working last week so I pulled it off and found that it had a crack and was full of water. Just took a look at the drivers side tail light and it has an even smaller crack but is still letting in water.

Is this a common problem with the 93-97 lights? If so is it worth it to upgrade to the newer lights or do they have the same problem? I think I like the looks of the 93-97s better but if the newer ones dont crack and arent that hard to upgrade to I will change them.

Is it really a crack or a seperation between the lens and body? Anyway it's faily common in the 93-97's. It's also faily easy to fix. A little glue or RTV usually works.

They're both cracked in the exact same place and the passenger one is also seperating from the gasket.

I concur on separation.. Never seen one just cracked unless you are slamming the lid down very hard????

I've only owned the car for a week but I have no idea what the person who owned it before me was doing. The cracks are so small I didn't even notice them until after the passenger turn signal stopped working and I went to change the bulb out.
