97 z28 convertible top frame issue
I had my top down the other day and when I attempted to raise the top, the Folding Top Side Rail Garnish and Rail were hitting against the seatbelt trim cover. Then the bolt, bushing, washer, and nut attaching the Folding Top Rear Side Rail Link to the Pivot came off. I was able to get the Link and pivot hardware reattached, but now the Folding Top Side Rail Garnish and Rail won't seat correctly when I raise the top. I have lowered the top, checked everything out, and it is still sticking out. Has anybody had the same issue? The frame doesn't appear to be bent, but I am at a loss. I am going to get a new top in the near future, but I cannot raise the passenger window all the way up with the rail and garnish in the way. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

This may not help much, but there is a free 96 full service manual accessible using this link: http://www.mediafire.com/#40mfgeoe4ctti
It has some pretty detailed procedures for maintaining the folding top. Good luck.
