96 b body complete lt1 in my 94 z

What's up everyone happy Sunday I'm kinda in a fluster cluck and I'm a little confused I wanted to know bc my brother just purchased a 94 roller and he is purchasing a complete lt1 from a 96 impala and he wanted to drop the whole motor in w/o changing front acc basically I wanted to know will this work bc I don't think so ?

I'm going to guess it won't work, either. I imagine they changed the positioning to fit the car space requirements. I'm sure GM would have used the same for both if they could have.

And.... the water pumps are different. Shoebox has a comparison on his site.

hey thanks you guyz for the response now I guess he bought the motor and has his blown up 94 z28 lt1 can he swap the front accessories and crank hub with no problem
motor came from a 96 caprice/impala and his is a 94 z28

Ok, well you said he bought a roller and nothing said about having an old blown up 94 he could use parts from. If that were known, it would have been suggested to swap over what was needed.

Yeah it's has a lt1 that has a big hole through the pan, now will there be problem with putting this 94 hub on this 96

The info is in the link I posted. The OBD-2 hub is 0.10" shorter than an OBD-1 hub, so the OBD-2 crank sensor reluctor can fit behind the hub. You would have to remove the reluctor gear from the 96 B-Body engine crank, to allow the Camaro/Firebird/Corvette OBD-1 hub to fit on all the way.

Use the 94 knock sensor.
