95 Camaro window motor replacement
I think my window motor may be going bad, it rolls up but not quite all the way, and it wont move, i shut the car off and turn the key backward and then when i press the up button it works, sometimes the window will move and other times it won't. What is the best replacement brand since they ALWAYS go bad?? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: 95 Camaro window motor replacement
Kid,
Download Shoebox's instructions form his Tech page. They are very detailed and accurate. I just did the passenger side window motor last week. Did the drivers side last summer. My only suggestion is to cut 3/4" holes in the inner pannel with a hole saw instead of the suggested 1/2" holes. It makes it easier to get the nuts on. I bought the GM OEM pieces. The originals lasted over 15 years so I went with them. Got them at Advance Auto PArts. Take your tme and do one step at a time. Don't forget to lube the tracks.

Re: 95 Camaro window motor replacement
I used ShoeBox instructions for both sides DS one year and PS the next... lmao...everything on my car has been going like that...
http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html
and you should probably do this at the same time...meaning once you install it check it

the motors are like $35-75 a piece... I got dorman's I think~

Re: 95 Camaro window motor replacement
Thanks for the replies. I went to my local gm dealer where i know the parts manager and he cut me a deal on a new acdelco drivers side motor for $42 and I know a body shop guy that can change the motor in about an hour for $25 or so..

Re: 95 Camaro window motor replacement
I'd recommend getting whatever your local auto parts store provides with a lifetime warranty (assuming you plan on owning the car more than a year or so)
The swap is pretty easy, check out Shoebox's tech section which has been mentioned in this thread already.
