67 Camaro Rotisserie Restoration
#18
The outside bits are all done. It is time for the RED. I am taking the clips for the windshield trim to the shop in the morning, so we can set them up before it is painted.
This is a completely Clean, No Rust body. Eat your heart out Dynacorn. Yours may be good, but this is the real thing. I have spent in time, money and replacement parts enough to purchase a Dynacorn body, but then I would have had to started the blocking process, and this one is ready to paint.
This process has given me a new way to look at these cars. I see them by what is needed, more than that dream of easy restoration. There is no easy Cheap restoration. Some cars can not be saved if you look at them as an investment. There is a 1964 1/2 mustang Convertable that will not be restored. They made a list of what would be required for the restoration, and even with all the parts available, it must find another home. The dreamer part of me jumped, but before I even walked over, the new vision me grabbed me by the shirt and threw me back in the car to leave. If I would have walked over, I would never have walked away, and the Camaro would have taken another pause. I am not willing to do that.

The 200 kph Speedometer was sent to Bobs speedometer service in Detroit to be refinished. They refinished the face, replaced all of the bushings, and calibrated it.

The last of the pictures for now, Money being more of a factor than time, I am out for now. I will be bringing the car home for the winter. As money permits I will start working on the interior, the wiring, and in the spring, I am going to install the engine and transmission. This has been a real progress year. I just hope to keep it going.

I am using Global West Offset upper rods, but you must remember the back of the frame is on the ground, which will make it look exaggerated. It also is not aligned. That will be the last thing after every thing is installed, and all the fluids filled. I’m thinking 2010.

Re: 67 Camaro Rotisserie Restoration
My garage is not heated, so my build was delayed till it warmed up. Last week it really started getting nice enough to work on the car again, and my company notified me that I am one of seven positions they will no longer need. I guess everything is going to be on hold for a while till I get working full time again.
Thank everyone for following my build, and I promise to add to it as soon as things are back in order.
Chris.
