52mm tb with asr interruption?

I have two problems, the other one is that the asr system seems to shorten my throttle cable in run, which lifts the linkage off the throttle stop enough to raise rpm by 200. So if I set the stop to a good point then turn on the engine, the rpm creeps up in a minute and my idle speed becomes close to 1000. Sometimes the cable tension releases, and idle returns to normal. Engine off, if I move the cable from side to side, the cable develops slack and then engine on, it tightens up again. How can I adjust this out? My throttle cable has a thick plastic clasp in mid length that looks like something could be done there, but at the asr motor, it doesn't look like I could make an adjustment. What is my solution to this thing I have been plagued with? I have not found any info on the device as of yet.

Year of car would allow us to direct you to a free download of the correct factory shop manual. What brand throttle body? And trans type because that affects idle speed.

A "Signature" is always a good idea. Unfortunately if you use a phone app they don't all append your Signature.

1995 Z28 automatic with BBK/Edelbrock partnered 52 mm TB. Actually, found your old post, pushed rectangular button on one-way adjuster, and now went from pulled open at idle throttle to "way too slack" and am trying to figure out how to get it tiighter as I now have only half throttle!

Jeeez, my finger tips and thumb were tortured, still aching, trying to adjust this, so it does adjust both ways, but not by the naked hand! I found the perfect pliers to save my fingers, and the cable is now OK. I have had a tight cable all these years, and my idle has been variable because of it. Now stable! Without searching your forum, I wouldn't have known! Once the rectangular button on the bottom is pushed in, the cable easily extends, where it can ratchet back shorter at will.
