4th gen z28's too much electronics
Aint had z long only 8,000 miles .
alotta problems I read from owners is scaring and making me want to sell this complex car.
It looks good but over complicated filled w/ sensors modules scares me to point of selling it.
Only 71,000 miles hust about every system ive read complaints about .
long time owners tell me if its true?
long time owners tell me it aint true? Can all you owners really defen d and have little or no problems?
I aint getting younger and I read so much negativity I don't want to experience it.
70,000 changed water pump now some shaking on hard braking
Tell me im wrong and its a dependable vehicle/ tell me its cheap to repair? tell me a good reason to keep this car??

1. It's paid for-no monthly payments I assume.
2. You have the OB2 system(on board diagnostics). Many here can offer advice for a scanner that will tell you where a problem is or what area.
3.Cheap insurance.
4.Great looking car(the front license plate could use some work)
5.Parts are cheap or reasonable if you shop around --Rock Auto--e-bay ect.
6.Get your front rotors turned, about $50.00 or so as you may have warped rotors noticeable upon braking.
7.Water pumps wear out fast when the cooling system isn't flushed(normal maintenance).previous owner's fault I guess.(Optispark cars are the exception).
8.It is a performance car but not as complex as any new car or maybe the past ten years or so.
9.A lot of new cars have sensors for the sensors.
10.Go to MSN website and scroll down to the auto section and look at all the recalls ,there's tons of recalls on practically every car out there.
Hope this helps.My02

Edit #6---Lateral runout.
I have had my beater car Saturn vue's rotors resurfaced 3 times since I bought it new in 2004 and at 105,000 mi had new rotors replaced.Pads in front replaced 3 times, shoes in the back original. The front brakes did most of the stopping till I had the rear shoes adjusted.(I just assumed when I had a brake job done on the front they would automatically adjust the backs but that's not the case unless you ask the mechanic to do it.Disc's on front, drums in back.Hope this helps.

Re: 4th gen z28's too much electronics
Rotor warping is a myth. What really happens is buildup of pad material on the rotor surface. The solution is better pads (and proper bed-in technique), not better rotors.

ya know I was thinking wifes pads changed at 50,000 and prior to it she had shaking upon braking no new rotors just pad change she said after that no more shaking on braking at steering wheel, yeah so maybe
