4th Gen Dash Removel and reinstall
It is my belief that GM put the dash pad in prior to putting the windshield on. I for the life of me cant seam to figure out how your suppose to replace yours once youve cracked it, or get a non cracked one OUT of a parts car, WITHOUT removing the window.

If i remember right, the dash pad is held on in the front by Velcro. If your pad is already broken, and you have a replacement, just rip the thing out.

But how do you get the In out that is in the pad at the top of the Cluster shroud? This push pin goes through the dash and the shroud. Trying to get th is pin to pop up is how I broke the GOOD ONE.
And you cant take out the shroud unless you pop th dash up.
Even once I cracked the hell out of the pad I still couldnt manage to get it out between the pillers without Bending the hell out of it.

You have to take the A pillar panels off first then you can take the upper dash panel off.
There are slots in the sides of the dash panel that the A pillar panels slide into that's why you have to take take them out to install or remove the dash panel.
The dash panel is held in by a couple Velcro strips and some push pins.
You should be able to pull the panel up without breaking anything.
Your going to have to bend the dash panel a little to take it out and put it in.
Your old one will probably break but your new one should be OK just be very gentle with it.

So like you said, I broke the good one trying to BEND it a little to get it out.

I understand you have to take the A pillers out. The thing is I dont have a NEW one like you say I need. I have one ( or had ) broken one in my car and (had) one UNBROKEN one in a parts car that I tried to remove.
So like you said, I broke the good one trying to BEND it a little to get it out.

Yea I won't even bother with a used one because they dry out and you do have to bend them a little to get them in and if it's not new there is a good chance it will crack.
Check out what I did when mine cracked.

Yea I know I have a 25 year old plastic garbage can and it's not cracked like the Camaro upper dash.
No cracks in the can at all.
