2000 Camaro differential fit in 2001
#2
Physically it will fit. Only differences should be three or four channel, a four has an abs sensor at each wheel, a three has a single abs sensor on top of the diff housing. If you have traction control, (asr) make sure the donor does as well.

Spin it slowly by the yolk, while creating light resistance on the axle and feel for smoothness. Of Course this isn't even kind of fool proof, hopefully you can pull the cover for a visual inspect. Be sure the axle you are swapping has the sam gear ratio, or at least know what the gear ratio of the new rear is, and what you have in yours.

An "open" differential will fit the same as the limited slip, and it won't change the way the car runs. But it will lead to one-legged burnouts.
If they were both from V8 models, they will both be limted slip.
