1995 Z28 with a stuck driver seat.

While cleaning my carpet today, I moved my electric driver seat forward over an inch to vacuum behind it, but now it won't go back or forward! It still reclines and up and down, but that's all. Lucky I can still fit in! How can I overcome the motor to move it back???

Have you checked the breaker or power to it?

The electric paddles still run the seat up, down, and any tilt, but now just not forward and back. Was hoping there was something to allow me to force the seat back to where I fit in the best!

Could be that the tiny circuit breaker inside the motor has gone bad or that the electrical connector has pulled loose. Or the switch is bad. Test the motor by connecting 12v to the tan and light green wires at the motor connector. If the motor works, replace the switch. If the motor still doesn't work, I would remove the seat and remove the motor if necessary. You would have to disconnect the motor drive at each side. The inner side has a cable with a disconnect fitting that is easy to remove (squeeze the ring and pull). I am not sure about the outer side track connector. Once the motor is fully disconnected, you may be able to re-position the seat without having the turn each gear with a small screwdriver. But if you have to turn the gears, turn each side a few turns at a time or they will get out of sync.

The plastic parts should have one or two Philips head screws holding them in place. You can either remove them or turn them out of the way after the screw(s) is removed. Another option is to locate the motor drive screws on each side and use a screwdriver to turn them a few turns at a time while moving from the left side to the right side. That will move the seat back or forward very slowly.
The first time I removed the seat to do repairs, I added two wires to the front/rear motor so I could easily connect 12v to the wires to move the seat, provided the motor was still operative.

did you wire it direct to a 12v car battery? or something like the cigarette lighter?

Either way. Reverse the connections to change the motor direction.
